John Christopher Hannon, Ph.D.

Background

Dr. Hannon spent the last 44 years of teaching and consulting in the management/business discipline.  While director of Florida Institute of Technology's Aberdeen Graduate Center,

Dr. Hannon developed Internet-based content, DOD and commerce partnerships, and taught Graduate Business and IT courses. Most recently, Dr. Hannon has served on the Board of Advisors of Cooper College, the Board of Directors for BayHill Estates, Fl.,  and is an active partner in the consulting firm of BH&H where he focuses on promoting efficiency and innovation in computer-mediated communication, electronic group support systems, and executive Information systems.

In addition, John is a Walden faculty member, teaching courses in the D.B.A. program.  John provides leadership design support for Tate Consulting and is a loving father and husband. John works tirelessly to develop others and is committed to developing legacy leaders.

ACADEMIC HONORS:

  • October 2019 inducted into Alpha Iota Delta, an international honor society in the decision, information and operations sciences.

  • January 15, 2016 – Capella Flex Path Pioneer Award

  • April 8, 2014 - Capella President Stephen Shank’s Award for Outstanding Faculty

  • October 18, 2004, Received Troy University’s “Best Practices in Online Teaching Award.”

  • Nominated March 95 for Florida Tech’s 1995 Faculty Excellence Award in the category of University Service for contributions made to the University’s Professional Development Program.

  • Received the Outstanding Business Faculty Member for 1993 from the Florida Tech Chapter of the National Business Administration Honor Society, Delta Mu Delta, October 2, 1993.
